Simone Inzaghi will give Francesco Acerbi, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Marcus Thuram a rest in today’s Serie A clash between Inter Milan and Cagliari.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
Inter Milan take on Cagliari in Serie A this evening.
It will be a hugely significant match in the title race. Inter can hardly afford to drop any points in the title race against Napoli.
But at the same time, Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi is having to balance the team’s league efforts with a massive Champions League quarterfinal tie against Bayern Munich.
The first leg of that tie against Bayern sapped a great deal of energy from Inter’s squad. And there is the second leg just around the corner, on Wednesday.
Acerbi, Mkhitaryan & Thuram To Rest In Inter Milan Vs Cagliari Clash

According to the Corriere, there are three big names in particular who Inter coach Inzaghi will give a chance to catch their breath.
Francesco Acerbi had started against Bayern Munich. And it was a tremendous effort from the Italian international.
Therefore, Acerbi will be kept in reserve for the second leg.
Then, the same is true of former Arsenal and Roma midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
Meanwhile, in attack, reports the Corriere, Marcus Thuram will drop to the bench as well, as Inzaghi looks to keep the Frenchman fresh for the second leg against Bayern.
